It replaces the OEM intake elbow that connects the air filter to the turbo inlet. The OEM part has restrictive internal geometry and a fixed cross-section. The Blaze inlet pipe is smoother, larger-diameter (76mm or 100mm depending on the model), and reduces airflow turbulence into the turbo. 76mm or 100mm — which should I choose? The 76mm (3-inch) inlet is a direct upgrade for OEM and pairs well with the AToM PRO intake. The 100mm (4-inch) inlet supports higher airflow and is recommended for the AToM RACE intake or for higher-power builds. The two are not interchangeable — pick to match your intake. Will this fit my car? See the “Fits these vehicles” box above. The inlet pipe is a direct replacement for the OEM elbow on MQB EA888 Gen 3 cars. Do I need a tune? No — the inlet pipe is safe on a stock ECU. It is most commonly fitted alongside a cold air intake and/or charge pipe upgrade.
